Jeannette Ayoob-Urban and Rich Urban of Aliquippa had already lost a son to stillbirth at 20 weeks. Two years later, and in her 28th week of pregnancy, Jeannette found herself at Magee-Womens Hospital again in early labor.
Twelve weeks before his expected arrival, Michael was born by emergency c-section, weighing just 2.5 pounds. The Womancare Birth Center nurses dubbed him “Superman.”
Michael spent weeks in the NICU, battling back every time his little body experienced a setback. He went home three days before his due date, weighing nearly 6 pounds.
“What a loving family that took us in,” Jeannette says. “What a special place, with special people, giving birth to miracles.”
A poetic footnote: Michael was Superman for his first Halloween.
